My husband is retired from the coast guard and on disability, due to service related condition. We have tried to appeal with the VA but they keep turning us down for the last 4 years. his disability has increased so it seems his percentage should also change. anyone have any ideas??
already tried to talk with a lawyer, per the bar association in the greater tampa bay area there are no lawyers who pratice concerning the VA.
Today I received my award packet and was rated at 80%. 70% PTSD, 10% back, 10% hip. 5 minutes later I received a phone call for a job interview. So can I still work without having my rating cut, or can the VA find out if I am working?
I was active duty army and am now getting VA disability pay every month. I was thinking about joining the Army reserves. I fully understand you can not get monthly VA pay AND Drill/AT pay — i understand I have to pick one. My question is, am I able to get a reserve enlistment singing bonus? They are offering a nice bonus for my MOS and am wondering how the VA would view that money. Any suggestions or info would be great. thanks.
I have worked with the DAV and they don’t read the VA responses to my evidence and getting an appointment is difficult. I am a 40%service-connected veteran of Operation Southern Watch and live in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico. Please help
I was just awarded 30% service connected disability for my knees, my feet and my shoulder. My question is, do these payments last for the rest of my life or will i be re-evaluated every 3 months to try and cut down the rating? Just curious. I have searched the va.gov. site but did not find the information i was looking for.
I have been waiting for 2 months to get my percentage from the VA. I already got 50% from the Army but do they back pay from the moment they recieved your application?
I have the option to get 75% disability for PTSD, due to combat service in Iraq, The VA is only giving me the positives to getting disability. Does anyone have factual proof that it does NOT limit certain jobs? Such as, clinical psychology which I am currently enrolled in school for. Can I get licensed if I have a PTSD disability on record?
i was told that if my husband (who is prior service) receives disability benefits from the va that my son and i would be able to receive money from social security each month..is this true? and if so how would i go about filing for it?
I was hurt in Afghan. I was told I will either get 90-100% when I med board soon but I will only have 3 years in the military. Will I get money from both military and VA or do I still have to pick. I was told both ways.
I will be medicly retired.
I’ve searched the VA website thoroughly and they’ve done a good job hding the % listings for each illness. Migraines 5%-15%, Hystorectomy 5%- 20%, etc. Can anyone point me to the link?
